What makes a strong submission
Our readers trust TDS because we hold a high editorial bar, and that bar is what makes publication here meaningful. Here's what the strongest submissions have in common.
✓A clear, specific topic. “How I built a RAG pipeline for legal documents” beats “An Introduction to RAG” every time. Specificity is what sets your piece apart.
✓Real technical depth. Our readers are practitioners. They want to see the how and the why — not just the what. Show your code, your reasoning, your tradeoffs.
✓A timely angle. Why does this matter right now? A new tool, a shift in best practices, a lesson from a recent project — anchor your piece to something current.
✓Clean writing. You don’t need to be a professional writer. But proofread your work, structure it logically, and make every paragraph earn its place.
✓Your own images and diagrams. Visuals make complex ideas accessible. A well-made flowchart or graph can be the difference between a good article and a great one.
✓Original work. Everything you submit must be your own. Cite your sources, credit your data, and never present someone else’s work as yours.
